Creating Content for Your Membership Site

Tue, 11 September 2007 in Membership Sites, Creating Content

(Note: This is another snapshot of what you could be learning over at the BBO Membership Profits website. I will share some great content here, but if you want all the details, go to www.bbomembershipprofits.com)

Ok, so you want to create a membership site, but you have one concern: How are you going to keep it updated with fresh, unique, valuable content that keeps your members paying month after month?

Also, how do you do it without spending countless hours creating this content?

Well, you don’t have to spend that much time! In fact, all you need is a couple of hours every week and you can keep your membership desirable for those that are paying monthly.

Here are a few ways that you can add content:

Content Method #1: Teleseminars

A very easy way to add some extremely valuable content is to host a teleseminar. You can either invite a guest speaker, or you can host the teleseminar yourself.

This teleseminar could be 30 minutes in length, or it could be as long as 2 hours. It all depends on the subject matter and how much you want to share right away.

In fact, creating four 30 minute teleseminars gives you something to add to your membership site for the next four weeks (or even four months if you add other content as well).

Content Method #2: Articles

This will probably be your bread and butter for your membership sites. You should try to add at least one or two articles a week, unless you are going heavy on other content.

Articles are great because they are quick to make (you can write a 500 word article in less than 30 minutes) and are easy to consume (mostly anybody can read and enjoy an article).

Content Method #3: Videos

Possibly one of my favorite methods, videos add a dimension that no other medium can really add. It is by far the most popular method of learning.

Videos aren’t even that hard to make. Just grab Camtasia Studio and start recording your screen while talking, and before you know it you’ll have some very valuable content.

Content Methods #4 and #5: Guest Content and Outsourcing Content

However, you might be saying: “That’s great Matthew, but I don’t know enough to continue creating new content! What do I do then?”

That’s easy - get others to create it for you!

If you would like to learn all the details on how to really lighten your workload, you can hear all the rest on our live call which is happening today over at www.bbomembershipprofits.com.

Talk to you there!

Well, I have found that many webinars/teleseminars are only look like videos. So what the real difference.

    Thanks in advance.

On teleseminars, i must confess that i am so bored by them. Every marketer and his dog seems to be using this technique. You get a 45 minute audio mostly about who the speaker is and how great a marketer he is and about 5 minutes of useful information.

    Videos are the real deal

A really great way of generating content for your site is by allowing your visitors to contribute content either via forums or as submit a comment

Webinars are teleseminars where the content can be both audio and video, because you can see what the host is typing on their desktop. You can use this for showing powerpoint slides, or just getting questions from the audience without opening up the lines.

If a teleseminar is done right, you don’t spend the entire time talking about the past accomplishments of the speaker. The object is to make a reputation for yourself of being a host who gets right into the content. I know I hate to waste an hour with fluff, because if the person I am interviewing isn’t willing to share some good info right away, I cut the call short and find someone else.

I guess it all has to do with how much you value your listeners.

Matthew is a great person to interview, because he really gives you everything he’s got, I mean, look at this blog, he is actually sharing the content of his Membership Profits course on this blog. (Yes, you need to be a member to get the juicy details, but someone wanting to learn how to do a membership site would get a lot from this blog)…

Looking forward to my launch on September 25th…

    Have an amazing day!
