Free Traffic?
(I’m going to share an important traffic tip in this blog post. I’m not selling anything - I promise. You can get more free traffic tips and tricks here: http://www.bbotrafficseries.com)
I get a lot of emails asking for the best sources for free traffic.
The only problem with this question is that there is really no such thing as free traffic.
Sure, there is traffic you don’t pay money for, but every source of good-quality traffic will either cost you TIME or MONEY.
And since we all know that Time = Money, good-quality traffic really costs you MONEY or MONEY.
Think of it this way: If you spend 10 hours on a “free” traffic generation method, and you value your time at only $10 per hour
(it should be worth far more than that), then you have just “spent” $100.
You could have been building your business by many other methods, such as developing products, building relationships with JVs,
hiring, outsourcing, tracking and testing your opt-in pages and sales pages, but instead you were driving traffic.
Is there anything wrong with this? No, of course not, especially if you are working on a low budget.
However, eventually you are going to want to outsource any “free” methods so you can focus on more important aspects of your business.
For example, right now in my hobby-niche business I have two employees who focus on traffic. One creates awesome videos and
posts them to YouTube (and soon to other sites as well). The other posts on forums, finds links, and will soon be managing affiliates and banner advertising.
That frees my time up for product creation, website optimization, and business development (actually, I have an employee doing the product creation as well, so I have more free time sometimes than I want!).
There is a fine balance between saving money by doing things yourself and growing your business as fast as you can by outsourcing, without going bankrupt.
The general rule I use when hiring is this - if the new employee makes me no extra profits, can I still afford to pay him? If the
answer is yes, then I hire. If the answer is no, then I wait a little longer.
This rule might not work for you - you might instead have a lot of money that you are putting into your business. If that is the case, then hire sooner than later so you can grow your business faster.
Trust me, you will eventually grow tired of managing Adwords campaigns, creating videos, writing articles, and posting on forums.
You are the business owner, and as such you need to manage more than you already are, growing at a pace that works for you and your budget.

Work on what you can, outsource the rest. Eventually you shouldn’t be doing any of the traffic generation in your business, although it might not be until you’ve been in business for 3 or 4 years that that happens completely.
Have fun!

Hi Matthew,
Good points to consider for one who is serious about building a solid business online.
Its Simple equation: Time=Money
but it’s little bit hard to get to a new affiliate who is looking only for a quick bucks. Eventually they understand the importance of outsourcing… but only if they stay a long enough in the game
…and we know that more than 98% of players disappear after a few months of frustration.
Good tips, give us more

Matt:
Nice to read something about Internet business being a business. All the rules apply and then some.
I especially use the “Light bulb Method” when I start a business. Thomas Edison went through 10,000 trials before he got the light bulb right. Every time he tried a new glass, metal, wire, etc. he wrote it all down.
In the beginning it’s easy for a new intrapreneur to get overwhelmed by all the info flooding in. So I kept careful notes on it all.
That’s another way not to waste time. I also recommend the Self-Made Confessions of An Early Riser by Early to Rise press. Great info on using time and money.
Cheers,
David
Matt:
Great points. It was a great day in my business when I realized the need to outsource minor tasks. You can’t do everything, and captain of the ship does not mop the deck. You have bigger fish to fry as mentioned in your post.
by the way, I need a mic to start producing these traffic generating videos that you are teaching me. What mic do you use? anybody else have tips for a mic?

Awesome Article, I used bluehost.com for my wordpress blog and used the step by step tutorial in getting it set up. Once I logged in and used it, I was blown away. I had recently added these SEO pluggins manually in another blog, now that I have your idea, that process is eliminated. why is this Free , lol ? I watch all your videos, plus free software, I must say, You Da Man !!

Hi Matthew ,
“Work on what you can, outsource the rest” I like your working methodology and I already outsourced my website optimization and I only focus on promoting my business. This has helped me a lot. Thanks for sharing this valuable thought.
I agree with outsourcing but it is an investment, one has to make sure they ROI for it. Also, I am in the more time than money stage of MMO; however, what I do enjoy about doing it all myself is learning a system that when employees do make fiscal sense, I will have a clear system to provide them to get maximum productivity.
Thanks for tip. I will use it i think

I guess a well developed web site with a whole bunch of useful infos is pretty attractive for web users can provide you with lots of traffic.
However, this is my opinion - everyone decides him/herself.
I respect your work and added blog to favorites
It should keep track of hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly details of upload data, download data and combined (sum of upload and download) data. I need it because my ISP offers me limited downloads and uploads.
Thanks for that. Some additional traffic is never useless.
Very nice and forwarded information i am looking for this before.thanks for the review.carry on~ bye.
I am a master of Marie Curie high school, I’d like your blog.
I will tell my student about your post for them to get more exp
Good post. It’s easy to forget that if you spend 10 hours of your own time doing something - instead of purchasing it - you are actually wasting a huge amount of your own money (or the equivalent of it, because your time is your money).
I wish my boss would consider hiring a few more employees–I’m currently managing six projects all by myself and it’s really hard to focus on any one of them
thanks for these tips
