A Story Of The Little Website That Launched My Business.

    Hi Matthew,

I was in the “niche” you mention. What a “Titanic.” Its one niche that belongs at the bottom of the ocean. Somewhere near Vanuatu I believe :-)

Your site back then was one of very few where a person could get real credible information and guidance on that sinking ship of a niche.

Because of that I always associate your name with integrity and credibility and…value.

    Congratulations on your success.

    Regards,

    Jim

    Hi Matthew,

I’m not sure, but I think you were Chris Farrell’s mentor, and he certainly has risen to be an Internet Guru! And he always tries to help those who are starting out.
Hats Off to you and Chris and congratulations to you both!

the challenge I have right now is being able to find something I can start with no income cause that’s what I got.
“First, Stop trying to make money and start providing something of value to people. If you do, the money will follow.” - this is what I’d like to do but what can I offer of any value?

    Hello Matt,
Enjoyed your article. Good common sense advice for beginners and even the more advanced who may have strayed from the concept of giving value first, rather than chasing the money.

I’ve personally had that aha moment when I started building my team I found that by helping my team achieve their goals, I achieved mine as well.

So it’s important to examine from time to time where one places the emphasis and then do the tweaking, if necessary.

Thanks for keeping us on point.
    Eileen

Few people seem to understand that this is how capitalism works. That creating value is the whole point.

You provide value to society. Society rewards you back with coupons (money) that you can then redeem to enjoy the value that someone else has provided to society.

Your story is an awesome reminder of that.

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

    Paul,

The starting with no money isn’t as hard as you’d think. What you can provide as value is the real question. There are always ways of providing value. What that is, is hard for someone other than you to know. Have you tried making a list or asking friends something you are good at? Ask yourself or them, what’s something that it’s hard to get you to shut up about. Then start looking in that direction.
