The secret to making $10,000 per month

Wed, 22 October 2008 in Membership Sites

I want to share a secret with you that will allow you to eventually be making $10,000 per month (or more if you like).

Now let me be clear, I don’t want to show you how to make $10,000 in one month, I want to show you how to make $10,000 per month.

There is a big difference there.

I have been able to make over $250,000 in one month, and yet had my worst year ever financially.

My first year saw a $95,000 month, and yet I fell into debt only 3 months later after being hammered by the government for taxes.

You see, the trick isn’t learning how to make huge sums of money all at once, the trick is to learn how to make consistent, residual profits.

You know, the kind that keep coming month after month without you having to do huge launches all the time.

If you read my post on the website that saved my business then you’ll already know that I love sites that charge a monthly subscription fee.

The concept works extremely well, no matter what the economic situation is.

Let’s do a case study.

Let’s imagine that you start a membership site that provides some sort of information on an ongoing basis, and it only costs $19.95 per month, and offers a $1 trial to get started.

Almost anybody can afford $19.95 per month, so this should be able to work in any market (which it does).

Now, let’s say you go out and work hard and only get 100 new members in your first month. This shouldn’t be too hard as one or two good JV partners could accomplish this for you.

How much money did you make?

$19.95 x 100 = $1995 - almost $2000 in your first month - not bad!

However, it gets better.

Let’s assume that you work just as hard (and well) and get another 100 members the next month.

How much money did you make?

$19.95 x 100 = $1995 - almost $2000 again!

But wait, the 100 members from the first month are charged again, making you another $1995, for a total of $3990!

Then the next month you get another 100 members, totaling 300 members.

How much money did you make?

$19.95 x 300 = $5985!

We could stop there and just make $5,985 per month (I’m sure most of you would love to be making that much - would that be enough for you to quit your job?).

Of course we could continue. After 6 months you would have 600 members, which would be making you $11,970 per month, well over our $10,000 per month goal.

Now, some of you might have caught a slight flaw in this - what about people who cancel? Well, there will be cancellations, but the trick is to make a membership site where you get more new members than you lose them, thus always increasing your monthly income.

Here is what you need in order to harness this powerful method:

1. Inexpensive software to run your membership site
2. Content
3. Traffic

That’s it! It really isn’t more complicated than that.

The hardest part for most people is creating the website, as it provides the most technical challenges.

If you have problem with HTML, PHP, MySQL, FTP, and all those fancy acronyms, and you would like to still be able to make a membership site without forking out $2000+ to a web designer and $5000+ to a programmer, then you’ll want to check this out:

www.MembershipBase.com

You can start for only $1 and have your own membership site up within just a few minutes.

Trust me, this is the secret to how I stay in business and make the money I make. I love product launches, but the real stability in my business comes from membership sites.

Push Button Residual Income

Tue, 21 October 2008 in Membership Sites

I want to share something with you that is a little personal, and somewhat embarrassing.

I started my online business about 4 years ago. In my first year, I grossed $150,000. My second year saw that double to $300,000.

My third year saw that double again to $600,000. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

Well, to tell you the truth, the third year was a very hard year for me financially.

You might wonder how that might have happened, seeing as how I was generating more cash than my first two years combined.

It all happened around May of that year when I did a launch that generated over $250,000 within a two week period, most of it profit.

I was so excited that I decided to super-charge my business by growing and hiring new employees. Well, I grew a little too fast
for the strength that I had, and the payroll expenses combined with all the extra expenses of equipment and other overhead grew
so high that I actually went into a great deal of debt.

I knew how to generate money, but I wasn’t very experienced in managing a larger business.

By the end of the year I had to lay off most of these employees simply because I could not afford to keep the business going at that rate.

It was a very difficult time, considering how it was just before Christmas that I had to do this.

As I sat back in my desk exasperated, having had several months of financial stress, I started to look over my financial reports to see how I could start digging myself out of this deep hole.

That’s when I discovered it.

I had one website that I hadn’t even thought about that had saved my business.

It was working so quietly, so “behind the scenes”, that I hadn’t even considered what it was doing for me.

That website was generating between $5,000 and $10,000 per month consistently with hardly any work on my part.

It didn’t generate $100,000 one month and then $0 the next. It wasn’t getting tens of thousands of visitors per day. It was
simply providing a service to people, and they were doing something that I now base my business around:

** They were paying me a monthly fee **

It was only $19.95 per month, but because they were on a recurring payment plan they provided the stability to my business that allowed me to survive the most difficult times I had ever faced.

That’s when I realized the key - residual income.

Now you can build your own residual stream that will bring you thousands of dollars per month automatically, and you can start for only $1:

Check it out.

I’ll tell you even more about it tomorrow, giving you some more case studies.

Creating Content for Your Membership Site

Tue, 11 September 2007 in Membership Sites, Creating Content

(Note: This is another snapshot of what you could be learning over at the BBO Membership Profits website. I will share some great content here, but if you want all the details, go to www.bbomembershipprofits.com)

Ok, so you want to create a membership site, but you have one concern: How are you going to keep it updated with fresh, unique, valuable content that keeps your members paying month after month?

Also, how do you do it without spending countless hours creating this content?

Well, you don’t have to spend that much time! In fact, all you need is a couple of hours every week and you can keep your membership desirable for those that are paying monthly.

Here are a few ways that you can add content:

Choosing a Market for your Membership Site

Fri, 07 September 2007 in Membership Sites, Niche Market

As promised, I want to answer some of the questions that I received from the membership profits introductory call.

The first one I want to address is from Shaun from Cardiff:

“How do you pick a market you know will be profitable?”

(Many others have asked this question as well, but Shaun was the first)

Choosing the right market for your membership site can make the difference between a highly profitable site and a site that costs you more than it makes.

Here are three important tips for getting a highly profitable market:

Is $10,000 per month realistic?

Thu, 06 September 2007 in Membership Sites

We just finished our Membership Site Profits Introductory Call not too long ago, and an interesting question came up:

“Could somebody starting from scratch build a membership site that makes $10,000 per month residually?”

Well, let me give you an example to answer this question:

Let’s say you have a membership site that costs only $19.95 per month. Let’s also say that you only get 100 new members each month (not very much).

After one month you would be making about $2000 per month. After two months you would have $4000, after three months you would have $6000, and so on until your fifth month when you would have $10,000 per month built up.

Would you like to learn how to do this?

Then listen to this free call:

Here’s how to profit from membership sites…

Tue, 04 September 2007 in Membership Sites

Well, I think we have an answer.

On Friday I asked the simple question: Would you like to learn how to make membership sites?

Close to 200 of you shouted out “Yes!”

With that in mind I am now working on putting together a course to help you make residual monthly profits from your own membership site.

I am designing it with everybody in mind - it will be affordable to everybody, AND you will get all the information you need to start creating your $1000, $2000, and eventually $10,000+ residual monthly profits.

I will be creating this product by recording a series of 5 teleseminars, which will then be transcribed and edited into a full-length e-book.

If you are interested in joining me live for these teleseminars, or on getting the recordings the moment they are ready, then please go to the following URL:

http://www.bboinstitute.com/membershipprofits/

And enter your name and email address to be notified. I will most likely be starting as early as this Friday, so don’t miss out!

P.S. Also, please leave any questions you have about making money from membership sites right here in this blog post.

Would you like to learn how to make membership sites?

Thu, 30 August 2007 in Membership Sites

One way that I have been able to bring in a healthy income for my business has been through membership sites.

Actually, to be more specific, through residual monthly membership sites. That means that members join by paying a monthly fee.

The great thing about these websites is that you don’t just go for a one-time sale and then wonder how you’ll make money the next month - you get paid month after month after month.
