Last post we talked about the kinds of information products you can create. We’ve also been discussing how critical it is to survey your list. Especially when you plan on creating an information product.
After surveying your prospects and customers, you have the most important part of any information product: The Questions people are asking. Creating your information product now becomes a whole lot easier. They’ve basically written it for you. All you have to do is take the top 10 questions they asked and answer them. If you don’t know the answers, simply go and find them. Do some google searches to find the best answers or ask another expert how they would answer that question.
In some niches it makes sense to simply do your best to answer the questions yourself. Don’t lie or make things up. Be honest and upfront. In my Hobby Commerce Niche, we will often answer questions from our own experience. There may be other people who have better answers than we do. But we have evidence that what we have done works and our answers bring the best we have from our own experience. So we share what we know and encourage others to chime in and sharing any better ideas. But we also love to hear what’s worked for others.
Give good answers but don’t fret too much over them. The most important part of any information product are the questions people are asking, not the answers you give. You can give a great answer to a question no one cares about, and it won’t do anyone any good. Or you can give your best answer to a question lots of people care about and it will have tremendous value to all those asking the question.
I hope you see just how easy it is to create an information product. If you have any other ideas of thoughts I’d love to hear them. Please post them in the comments below.
